New York, Jan 29 (ANI): Former governor of New York Eliot Spitzer believes love “changes over time”.

Spitzer, 50, was forced to quit office in 2008 after allegations of his involvement in a high-priced prostitution ring.

And now he has opened up on his views about love.

“It’s one of these feelings that you sense when you meet somebody and there is a response that is different and is unique, and is palpable. And it then changes over time,” the New York Post quoted Spitzer, as telling bigthink.com.

He continued: “In other words, the sort of exaltation of first meeting and falling in love is, I think everybody would admit, is different than the feelings that you might have after 25 years,” he said, laughing as he added, “When my wife is watching this, she may say, ‘What are you talking about?’ But it is.

“After 25 years, it becomes almost a dependence. And a sense of knowing somebody so well that you have merged as personalities, and know each other’s thoughts and there’s a comfort that is there, which is part of it, and equally important.”

His wife, Silda, has stuck by his side and several sources say she believes he was driven out of office unfairly.

Rumour had it that Spitzer was fond of having sex with his black dress socks on and when asked to confirm he said: “No.”

On any possibility of a return to public office, he said his public deliberations are “not part of some scheduled return to anything, but I’ve enjoyed it.” (ANI)
