Eight killed in US house fire

Washington, March 24 (IANS) At least eight people, including six children, were killed in the US state of West Virginia during an early morning house fire, a media report said Saturday.

The fire was reported at about 3.30 a.m. at a two-storey house on Arlington Avenue in Charleston city and two adults and six children under the age of eight lost their lives, Xinhua reported, citing Charleston assistant fire chief Bob Sharp.

Neighbours said the victims comprised two sisters and their six children, the WSAZ-TV reported.

The cause of fire is under investigation.
