December 3rd, 2011 - 9:17 am ICT by IANSPort-au-Prince (Haiti), Dec 3 (IANS) At least eight people were killed and many injured Friday in the Carribean nation Haiti after a high tension wire fell on a bus, leading to its collision with a truck.
The accident occurred in the Leogane region in southern Haiti, Xinhua reported Saturday.
The falling of the wire on the bus caused immediate death of several people by electrocution. It also caused the bus driver to lose his control and crashing it into a truck that was carrying construction material.
Most of those dead were electrocuted, an official spokesman said, adding that many of the bus passengers who were wounded in the accident remained in critical conditions and rushed to nearby hospitals for medical attention.
