Eight killed in Colombia shooting
July 3rd, 2010 - 9:09 am ICT by IANSBogota, July 3 (IANS) At least eight people were killed and nine seriously injured when a group of armed men opened fire at a bar in Colombia, officials said.
The armed men arrived Friday morning at a bar in Envigado in northwest Colombia and shot at the people inside, police official Edgar Munoz said.
Antioquia district governor Luis Alfredo Ramos said it was apparently a revenge by an organised crime group, Xinhua reported.
“Everything points to a clash between criminal groups of drug trafficking,” Ramos said.
Meanwhile, Colombia President Alvaro Uribe said the killing was “grave and regrettable” and urged the investigation authorities to speed up to capture those responsible.
