Eco-warriors are the biggest polluters: Survey

London, Jan 13 (ANI): People who are not green are not the only ones who spoil the environment, for a new survey of travel habits has revealed that the most environmentally conscious people are also the biggest polluters.
Geoff Wicken, the author of the report, said that people who claim to be environment friendly have some of the biggest carbon footprints because they are still hooked on flying abroad or driving their cars.
In contrast, their adherence to the green cause is mostly limited to small gestures, reports the Telegraph.
Such people are called eco-adopters, and they are most likely to be members of an environmental organisation.
They buy green products such as detergents, recycle and are devoted to green issues.
However, the survey of 25,000 people, conducted by the market research company Target Group Index, showed that eco-adopters are seven per cent more likely than the general population to take flights, and four per cent more likely to own a car.
The similar trends were found in France and the U.S. (ANI)

Al Gore calims to be carbon neutral, but he has multiple houses and each home consumes five times the energy of the average American family. That would mean 20 times more that the average person in the world. His farm still has toxic waste on it. John Edwards, the avocate for the poor, has a house that consumes 20 times the energy of the average american. The UK is not the only one with hypocrites.

This is a misleading statistic: “green people” belong to a educational/socioeconomic stratum of people that pollutes *much* more than the average person. However, compared to people of their stratum, they’re definitely less polluting. You have to compare apples to apples.
Average people pollute less because can’t spend much. Give ‘em more money and you’ll see what happens.
