Earthquake rocks Northeast of Taiwan

There was an earthquake in Taiwan with the magnitude of 5.1 Richter scale.

The earthquake occured on Wednesday, October 01, 2008 at 07:34:47 UTC ( Coordinated Universal Time ) and Wednesday, October 01, 2008 at 04:34:47 PM at epicenter local time as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter is 205 km (130 miles) NNE of Ishigaki-jima, Ryukyu Islands, Japan,255 km (160 miles) W of Naha, Okinawa, Japan,365 km (225 miles) ENE of Su-ao, Taiwan,1755 km (1090 miles) WSW of TOKYO, Japan.

On September 09 ,2008 , an earthquake shook the sea near Taiwan with the magnitude of 6.1 richter scale, and the epicenter was 24.57 degrees north latitude and 122.71 degrees east longitude. It was known to be the strongest earthquake in Taiwan this year was centered 85.8 km east of Suao in the northeastern Ilan county at a depth of 89.2 km.
