There was an earthquake in Puerto Rice with the magnitude of 2.7 on the Richter Scale.
The quake occurred on Thursday, October 09, 2008 at 06:19:18 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time ) and Thursday, October 09, 2008 at 02:19:18 AM at epicenter
local time as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter is 4 km (2 miles) NW (320°) from H. Rivera Colón, PR, 4 km (2 miles) WNW (282°) from Galateo, PR, 4 km (3 miles) NNE (28°) from Corozal, PR, 15 km (9 miles) WSW (258°) from Bayamón, PR, 21 km (13 miles) SW (235°) from SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico with the depth of 54.2 km (33.7 miles).
In 1918, a major earthquake that struck the island of Puerto Rico and the magnitude for the earthquake reported was around 7.5.
