The illusionist, known as Ramana, has also been daunting the folk at Times Square with a series of unbelievable stunts.

The illusionist, real name Wouter Bijdendijk, hovered 1m off the ground, with his only side-kick a small cane-like prop that he gripped easily with his left hand.

Ramana is a household name in the Netherlands and has performed for Queen Beatrix.

He has also been granted the Golden Cloth award in India, the greatest cultural honour ever given to a westerner.

“This is an art. And in India, they see it also as a science. I hope I make people wonder,” News.com.au quoted Ramana, as saying.

His repertoire also includes “flying” up to 10 metres above ground, mind reading and other forms of Indian street trickery. (ANI)
