Dubai, April 20 (IANS) Tatweer, a member of Dubai Holding, will develop the world’s first Marvel Super Heroes theme park at Dubailand, the world’s largest entertainment complex coming up in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Tatweer announced Saturday that it has clinched a landmark deal with US-based Marvel Entertainment Inc to develop the theme park, WAM news agency reported Sunday.

Marvel Entertainment Inc is known for the creations of Super Heroes characters such as Spider-Man, The X-Men, The Fantastic Four and The Incredible Hulk.

The Marvel Super Heroes theme park will be one of the key anchor projects in the Dubailand. The design and conceptual master plan of this 4.5 million sq ft development has recently been finalised, according to the company.

The park, which is expected to welcome visitors in 2012, will provide families an ultimate destination with new and exciting rides that will enable them to re-live their childhood memories and interact with their much-loved Super Hero characters, the company said.

Saeed Al Muntafiq, executive chairman, Tatweer, said the theme park would further enhance and diversify the region’s entertainment offerings, and spotlight Dubai’s status as one of the world’s most attractive tourism destinations.

“We are delighted to welcome Marvel as our latest member in the distinctive Dubailand’s portfolio. We are confident this landmark partnership will add further value to the exciting world-class offerings of Dubailand,” he said.

David Maisel, executive vice president of Marvel Entertainment and chairman of Marvel Studios, also hoped that the park would be a unique entertainment experience for visitors.

“The launch of the Marvel Super Heroes theme park in Dubai will mark our entry into a region that promises tremendous growth potential for our brands,” he added.
