Drunk man mistaken for speed bump, run over, killed
May 12th, 2011 - 5:55 pm ICT by IANSLondon, May 12 (IANS) A drunk man who lay down on the road was mistaken for a speed bump and was run over and killed, a media report said.
The Sun said Matthew Webb, 37, was seen crawling on the road during a night out with friends. He then lay down right by a speed bump.
Car driver Chloe Claridge drove straight over the bump and then bounced over Webb. He was dragged under her car.
David Eggleton, a cab driver, was behind Claridge and said he saw a lump in the road.
“It looked like a continuation of the speed bump,” he was quoted as saying.
