Dove World Outreach Center’s Plan To Burn Quran Suffers A Setback

Gainesville, Florida, Aug 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Dove World Outreach Center has gained widespread attention recently when it had made the announcement that it would be burning copies of the Islamic holy text book ‘Koran’ to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. However, it seems unlikely that the church would be able to carry out its plans as the Gainesville city officials denied the burn permit to the Dove World Outreach Center.
While revealing details of the decision taken by the city officials, Interim Fire Chief Gene Prince told the media earlier this week that as per the burning ordinance of Gainesville, the open burning of books is something that cannot be allowed. At the same time, the city official also went on to emphasize that in case if the burning of the religious book is carried out by Dove World Outreach Center, then the church would be fined for it. However, the fact that the burn permit has been denied to the church does not seemed to have deterred the institution from carrying out its plan as in an e-mail that was sent on Wednesday, Dove World Outreach Center revealed that they would still observe the ‘International Burn a Quran Day’ on the scheduled date despite the refusal.
However, the decision of the church to burn the Islamic religious books to mark the 9/11 terrorist attacks has been widely criticized by other religious leaders across the country. Senior Minister Dan Johnson who is associated with the Trinity United Methodist Church revealed through the online portal of the church that the proposal of the Dove World Outreach Center to burn Qurans is absolutely wrong.

Have you lost your mind? How stupid does one have to be to believe that if he “DIES” in the name of Islam he will get 70 virgins??
All the KORAN does is preach “kill/slay” the non-believer. No other religion does that.Its not a religion for that matter. Its a CULT with dummy followers.
Don’t worry, Islams rising for the last 40 years will be squashed like it was during the last up-rising 500 years ago.
For the time being , our 50-1 kill ratio in the middle east is thinning the herd..:)

Let you learn carefully about it and compare to yours. Even the bible say to kill the non-believers. If you don’t believe, you can put forward your proofs and we will bring ours.
The fact that the fast growing religion in the world and in the US is ISLAM is undeniable. It is the proof that ISLAM is the only TRUE RELIGION.

As one raised in a Christian tradition, I can’t help but feel that even Christians do not understnd the “Sacrifice” of Jesus.
Maybe Jesus was sacrificed to the Roman authorities as proof that some Jews did not agree with his teachings and let the Roman government take Jesus out for them.
When Constantine made “Christianity” the church of Rome, he may have needed to position Jesus in a way that his followers, Constantine’s, would not need to follow the Teachings of Jesus to the point of breaking imperial laws.
Burning the Quran will not accomplish anything signifant, other than polluting the atmosphere some more.
I no longer like the use of incense in liturgical services because it attacks people’s allergies, something that I believe Jesus himself would be agais.
If the reverend and his small flock would do something that Jesus would do, it would be to have a prayer vigil.

There is no Christian teaching that encourages the mistreatment of people of other beliefs. Burning books was the Nazi approach. It accomplishes nothing except to make fearful people feel self righteous.

Burn the Quran? Why not? Afghans are out demonstrating and BURNING THE USA FLAG. The Quran is only a book…paper and ink. Yes, it is a symbol, but so is our flag. Burn our flag and we will burn your Quran. Being politicially correct in this case is inappropriate. I know of no other religion that stones people to death, or flogs a widow woman with 90 lashes, or stones a woman because she was raped. Muslims are out of the Dark Ages…and looney tunes. Islam, a religion of PEACE? Gimme a break!
