Dollar Tree Recalled 682,000 Halloween Lanterns
October 28th, 2010 - 10:46 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonOct 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dollar Tree Stores have had to recall six hundred and eighty-two thousand Halloween lanterns due to the fact that the bulbs may overheat, and cause the ghost and skull lanterns to catch fire. There has been only one report of such an incident occurring, and no injuries were involved, however, the company feels that a recall is best in this case.
The action was taken as Dollar Tree cooperated with the USCPSC, (US Consumer Product Safety Commission).
The lanterns were sold at one dollar apiece, at Dollar Tree, Dollar Bill$, Occasions, Deal$ and Dollar Tree Deal$ stores between the months of August and October. They ask that consumers take the lanterns away from their kids immediately, remove and dispose of the batteries in them, and return them to the store where they were bought for a full refund.
This is the second Dollar Tree recall this month, with 275,000 projector flashlights being recalled for the same reasons.
