daytonahotel-2-0128Jan 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) TripAdvisor.com enlisted the ten dirtiest hotels in America for the year 2011, and Juju Chang of “Good Morning America” publicized the names of all these hotels in his show. These names were also featured in several leading news papers, wire services and websites. The hotel that ranked third in the defaming list was the Desert Inn Resort, Daytona Beach situated in 900 N. Atlantic Avenue.

The list was based on the users, who dropped their reviews against these hotels in the website. It was found that out of 260 reviews, 80 percent went against the hotel for its unhygienic condition, poor maintenance, and mis-management, that invited nothing more than “terrible” reviews. Some of the reviewers have even substantiated their comments with pictures that showed broken bottles, a cockroach and mold. Robin Hof, the manager of Desert Inn, was extremely offended with this act on the part of the website and said that no one from TripAdvisor.com has ever stayed in that hotel and therefore, this maligning negative publicity is not at all expected. He also added that all the staffs in the hotel do their duties with full efforts and therefore, they do not deserve this “embarrassment”.

Although the manager tried to contact the people from the particular website, the latter failed to respond, and has not even turned up to check the condition of the hotel by themselves. Robin Hof has also said that most of the lodgers come back to the same hotel or revisit them. Some of them also propose monetary help, just like the owner, Dennis Devlin, who invests a lot of money for its maintenance and renovation. The hotel that came first in the TripAdvisor.com list of dirtiest hotels was Grand Resort Hotel & Convention Center, Pigeon Forge, followed by Jack London Inn, Oakland, California.
