London, July 19 (IANS) Hollywood filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro has promised fans that he will not copy “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson while filming “The Hobbit”. Del Toro is refusing to imitate Jackson and is promising to give fans something new with the film version of “The Hobbit”, the prequel to J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of The Rings” trilogy, reports contactmusic.com.

Del Toro said: “If I thought it was about following Jackson, I wouldn’t be doing it this way. It’s a matter of raising on it. I think ‘The Hobbit’ has a peculiar spirit in relation to not only the trilogy, but also to Tolkien’s work. It’ll have respect for what has been done, but also its own individuality.”

Del Toro gained acclaim for directing such hits as “Hellboy” and “Pan’s Labyrinth”.
