Defence Minister faints during passing out parade at NDAMay 31st, 2008 - 12:19 pm ICT by admin
Khadakvasla (Maharashtra), May 31(ANI): Defence Minister A K Antony fainted during the passing out parade ceremony at the National Defence Academy (NDA) here this morning.
According to sources, after reviewing the parade and conferring medals on cadets of the 114th batch, the 68-year-old Defence Minister slumped on the stage. He fainted a second time when the cadets were marching off.
He was immediately rushed to the military hospital located within the campus, sources added.
Two electrocardiograms and ECG was done, and a blood test was also taken.
Antony’s condition was stated to be stable, officials sources quoted doctors at the hospital as saying.
The Minister has been advised rest for at least six hours. (ANI)
