Aug 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Dean Gardens” has been finally sold. The megamansion constructed by software entrepreneur Larry Dean, was sold for $7.6 million on Friday reportedly. The mansion has been bought by entertainment king Tyler Perry who plans to demolish “Dean Gardens” and construct his own dream home that would be more environmental friendly. The 32,000-square-foot megamansion was up for sale in the market for more than a decade.

The auction not only put for sale the whole mansion but also price tagged much of its contents. The auction began on Friday evening after a semi-formal cocktail party and went on till late Saturday afternoon. While many potential bidders sat to put their bid for the mansion, there were many others who turned up to see for the last time perhaps the opulence of the estimated $25 million house constructed over a period of four years in 1992. On Friday, as Larry Dean looked over the auction, the bidders went on to scrutinize every other object up for sale. The prices of the object ranged from $10 worth snow globe to a dolphin-sculpture fountain priced $60,000. Even the $17,500 leaded glass and mahogany double front doors was put on sale as the new owner expressed his desire to level the mansion.

The mansion that has been on-and-off for sale in the market for the past 15 years or so had caught the attention of around 15 buyers in the past reportedly. It was once rumored that late pop star Michael Jackson had shown his interest to buy the mansion but dropped the plan later on. However, as Dean Gardens has ultimately got a new master, Larry Dean wants to return to a “four-room house” where he had grown as a kid.
