Danny Welbeck says might turn back on England and play for Ghana
March 31st, 2011 - 4:43 pm ICT by ANILondon, Mar. 31 (ANI): Danny Welbeck admits he would consider turning his back on England to play for Ghana.
Welbeck, 20, made his senior England debut against Ghana in Tuesday’s friendly at Wembley but a twist in the rules means he can still play for the Black Stars.
According to The Sun, the Manchester United striker has been at the centre of a tug-of-war between England, where he was born, and Ghana, his parents’ homeland.
Until he plays in an official FIFA competitive match, he remains eligible to turn out for Ghana. (ANI)
