Dallas Office Building Evacuated for Suspicious Package
January 28th, 2011 - 12:09 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonJan 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Police in Dallas, Texas have evacuated a downtown office building which includes such businesses as ‘CNN’, ‘Bank of America’, ‘Fox News’ and several high tech companies. A package was found in the building and a bomb sniffing dog alerted that it was suspicious.
The employees working in the building located at One Main Place, 1201 Main Street in Dallas began to exit the building at around 10 am, after the package was reported by building security at 8:33 am, according to the spokesman for the Dallas Police Department, Senior Corporal Kevin Janse.
The building was still being evacuated at 10:14 am. The Fed Ex package was discovered in the basement of the building and an explosive ordinance unit, which is made up of explosives experts working for both the Dallas Police Department and the Dallas Fire Department are said to be on site at this time.
