Cuba calls for global cooperation to end hunger
March 9th, 2010 - 4:18 am ICT by IANSGeneva, March 9 (IANS) Cuba has called for greater international cooperation to help the world’s poor with food and shelter, Prensa Latina reported.
“Collaboration on the issue of food for poor should be the responsibility of the international community, mainly the industrialised nations,” Cuban diplomat Juan Quintanilla said Monday at the 13th session of the UN Human Rights Commission (HRC) here. The UN meeting will end March 26.
He said Cuba will present a document at the council, suggesting mitigation measures.
