‘Country folk in UK likelier to cheat on partners than city counterparts’

London, March 28 (ANI): A survey has revealed that people who live in the countryside in the UK are more likely to cheat on their partners than city folk.

More than one in five - 21 percent - said they would be unfaithful if they could get away with it. This compares to just 16 per cent of people in cities.

And nearly a quarter of rural men and women - 23 percent - play away against 15 percent of city dwellers.

Men are worse, with one in five confessing to cheating. Just one in eight women admits to being unfaithful.

But despite this, only eight percent in the country said they are unhappy in their relationships.

In the city it is 21 percent. In rural East Midlands 95 percent claim they are happy with their partner.

“It’s a surprise country residents are more likely to cheat on their partners as you would expect the chattering nature of rural areas to deter people,” the Daily Express quoted Momentum Pictures, which carried out the poll to mark the DVD release of country comedy Tamara Drewe, as saying. (ANI)
