Mark Joseph WhitneyFeb 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mark Joseph Whitney a police officer from Onley was taken into custody and later he was slapped with charges of driving under the influence after he met with an accident. The mishap took place on Route 13 near the eastern shore Virginia. Virginia State Police said on the incident later that the officer who was under the influence of alcohol was driving along route 695 but got deviated on to route 13. He lost his control and soon slammed into a Toyota Tundra truck. The driver of the Tundra luckily did not receive any serious injury at the accident, reports indicated. He was given treatment for the injuries and released.

The officer Mark Joseph Whitney was off duty when the accident took place said the cops at Virginia State Police. The driver of the Tundra Kenneth Lane Jones was taken aback by the accident and he definitely did no expect an off duty cop to crash into his truck. The inebriated police officer was driving a Subaru Impreza 2205 at the time of the accident. The cop did not say why he was driving in an intoxicated state after the arrest. It is not known whether he tried to justify his case.

The instance proves beyond doubt how drunken driving can lead to serious circumstances. Had the cop driven the car at high speed he could have ended up meeting a fatal injury. He could also have injured the driver of the Tundra severely. Possibly the car did not crash into the truck at high speed which explains both of them were not injured severely.
