Contraband in X-mass cards seized in Dubai
December 26th, 2010 - 11:14 pm ICT by IANSDubai, Dec 26 (IANS/WAM) Dubai Customs Sunday seized contraband drugs being smuggled into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a consignment of Christmas greeting cards.Officials at Dubai Cargo Village suspected the parcels, which contained Christmas cards coming from an Asian country and heading towards another Asian country via Dubai. The officials recovered 1.75 kg of marijuana and cocaine from the parcels, the Dubai Customs said in a statement.
So far this year, 39 attempts to smuggle narcotics through greeting cards have been foiled in the country.
