‘Congress showing locals, and not Pakistan, provoke terror’

Bharatiya Janata PartyNew Delhi, Nov 26 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday alleged that the Congress-led government at the centre was diluting India’s stance on terrorism from across the border by creating an impression that the country had home-grown extremists. “The Congress party is playing a dangerous game of converting Pakistan-sponsored terrorism into Pragnya-sponsored terrorism,” BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters here.

The ruling party was trying to falsely portray that local people, be it Hindus or Muslims, are involved in terror activities in the country.

“By using terms like Hindu terrorism, India is sending a wrong message to the world while the country had always maintained that Islamabad was out to disrupt the country’s security,” Naqvi said.

He said: “This political game plan of the Congress will provide a safe and secure ground to terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Students Islamic Movement of India to continue with their activities, with help from across the border.”
