Company fined for selling nude Carla Bruni imagesDecember 18th, 2008 - 9:21 pm ICT by IANS
London, Dec 18 (IANS) Clothing company Pardon has to pay $40,000 for distributing bags showing a nude image of French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.The picture, taken in 1993, dates back to the days when Bruni was a model.
Though Bruni sought $125,000 in damages from the company for distributing the bags to its clients, the court settled for a lesser amount, reported mirror.co.uk.
Now Pardon says it will appeal the ruling and has promised to destroy the 5,500 Bruni bags it is left with.
Bruni’s lawyers have said that they would donate whatever damages they receive to charity.
