London, Jan 15 (IANS) British band Coldplay are facing legal action from a man who alleges he wrote three of the band’s hit songs.
Sammie Lee Smith claims he is responsible for composing the group’s hit tracks “Yellow”, “Clocks” and “Trouble”, according to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court Wednesday, reports dailymail.co.uk.
Smith alleges the songs were stolen from him and he wants the Chris Martin led band to stop playing the numbers.
The unknown songwriter is also demanding unspecified financial compensation.
Coldplay previously faced a copyright infringement lawsuit from guitar great Joe Satriani, who accused them of stealing “substantial” segments of his song “If I could fly”.
The rockers, who denied any wrong doing, settled the case in September last year.
