The two victims were critically injured when a hyperbaric chamber exploded inside the clinic.

Although the Neubauer Hyperbaric Neurologic Center is yet to come out of the legal hassles, its authorities have decided that they should re-open it. Way back in 2009, Vincenza Pesce along with her grandson Francesco Martinisi had traveled all way from Italy to the U.S for the treatment of little Francesco Martinisi who was suffering from cerebral palsy. They had come to the Neubauer Hyperbaric Neurologic Center for it claimed that they could offer relief from the life-threatening disease hyperbaric oxygen treatment which however is not scientifically proven. While the treatment was going on the four year old Francesco Martinisi indise a pressurized oxygen chamber, the gas chamber all of a sudden exploded wreaking havoc in the clinic. Both the child and his grandmother were seriously injured and after battling with life for a few days expired. The accident which had taken place on May 1, 2009 had led the clinic to close down after Vincenza Pesce’s family sued it.

Located near Fort Lauderdale, in south Florida the clinic is still under the negligence lawsuits. A doctor who is a staff of the clinic says that they have implemented certain new rules where other than the patient no one else will be allowed inside the gas chamber. They now claim to be more cautious while scanning patients as to whether any sparks are arising or not.
