Clemson University Student Charged For Toddler’s Death

clemson-universityClemson, South Carolina, Sep 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A student of the Clemson University was arrested on the charges of child abuse and death of a 16 month old who was allegedly murdered in the month of October last year. The 25 year old by the name of Richard Brandon Lewis was arrested from Clemson University campus on Friday by the South Carolina Law Enforcement division agents on the ground of homicide by child abuse and homicide by child abuse, aiding and abetting.

Ashley Hepburn, the mother of the 16 month old girl - who reportedly died as a result of abuse or neglect, was arrested last year. The connection between the mother and Richard Brandon Lewis is not clear. The accused Richard Brandon Lewis is said to have caused the toddlers death by child abuse or neglect in October 2009 at a cross Hill home in Laurens County.

The student has brought disgrace to the Clemson University by engaging in an act so inhuman. Richard Brandon Lewis of 701 cedar street Clinton is charged with homicide by child abuse and also intriguing another person to commit child abuse, aiding and abetting. In the first case, Richard Brandon Lewis has been accused of having caused the death of a 16 month old girl on or about October 12-13, 2009 at a Cross Hill home in Laurens County while in the second case he is accused of aiding and abetting another person in a act of child abuse or neglect on or about August 1- October 13 in the same area. The act of child abuse is considered to be one of the most gruesome and inhuman acts of mankind and the case is said being investigated by South Carolina Law Enforcement division at the request of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
