fire44Rome, Italy, July 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Catholic Church in Italy has requested priests working under its fold to start leading a normal life, a life that they will be happy leading. This notice follows a story published in one of the leading publications of the city which claims that three priests in Rome were spotted visiting gay clubs and bars. It has been alleged that the gay priests also engaged in sexual encounters, one of which was completed inside a church building. One of the priests has been identified by the name of Paul.

According to the notice issued by The Diocese of Rome, gay priests are to forget about the stigma associated with being gay and stop functioning under the Catholic Church. The statement makes it clear that the Church does not want any man who is not true to the principles of a Catholic Church to remain enclosed in its fold. The teachings in a Church label homosexual acts as a “disorder” and the Vatican City too has taken strong steps against the gay priests. The Catholic Church in Rome has more than 1300 priests functioning under its fold.

A priest from Connecticut had been arrested earlier this month over charges of accompanying male escorts to various strip gay bars in the city. Investigation has brought to light that this priest was misusing the Church’s money and using it to entertain his personal absurd desires. The gay priest has been accused of stealing $1.3 million in his span of seven years with the Catholic Church. He now stands guilty of first-degree larceny. The Diocese of Rome does not support the double life that these gay priests are leading inside the walls of the Church.
