Chronology of world’s worst stampedes in 2010

– Jan 14: seven people died and 17 others were injured when pilgrims tried to embark a ship in West Bengal, India.
– Feb 25: 24 people died and 20 others were injured in a stampede at a crowded mosque in Timbuktoo city, Mali.
– March 4: 60 people died and about 100 others were injured in a stampede at a temple in Uttar Pradesh, India.
– March 8: one person died and 11 others were injured in a stampede when some 30,000 people tried to rush into a police compound during a recruitment drive in Mumbai, India.
– March 26: one person died and about 150 others were injured in a stampede at the Kasubi Tombs near Kampala, Uganda, as tens of thousands of people ended a week of mourning over the destruction of the royal mausoleum by fire.
– April 30: five people died in a stampede at a religious event attended by some 100,000 people in Haryana, India.
– May 16: two people died and 15 others were injured in a stampede at the New Delhi Railway Station, India.
– July 24: 18 people died and 80 others were injured in a stampede in a music festival in Duisburg, Germany.
– Oct 16: 10 people died and dozens of others were injured in a stampede at a temple in Bihar, India.
– Oct 23: seven people died and many others were injured in a stampede when they tried to get into a stadium for a football match in Nairobi Kenya.
– Nov 22: at least 345 people died and hundreds were injured in a stampede during an annual water festival in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
