Tucson, Jan 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a rather unfortunate development, a lively school girl from Tucson, Christina Taylor Green was shot dead after being shot by the gunman at the Arizona shooting. The incident took place at a political meeting which the young girl attended along with some of her neighbors. The nine-year-old girl who was loved by her family and friends a lot, was among the six victims who succumbed to the bullet injury. U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords’ meeting was held near a Safeway grocery store where she was shot. While the other victims died on the spot, the ill fated girl breathed her last at a regional hospital. Her shell shocked mother described her as the “best daughter in the world” and also said that she was a lively girl who had an optimistic attitude towards life.
Christina Taylor Green was among those children who were known as ‘Faces of Hope’ as she was born on the historic date, September 11, 2001. Christina Taylor Green was a student of Mesa Verde Elementary School. In her personal life, she was good in sports along with her studies. Despite her young age, the nine-year-old was supposedly highly interested in politics and got elected to her school’s student council in recent times. Her uncle said that the shock is too great for the family and it has indeed come as a bolt from the blue. He also added that a neighbor invited her at Saturday’s meeting, thinking she may like the event.
According to the reports, Christina Taylor Green got shot in her chest. U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords was also shot by the gunman and had to undergo a surgery.
