- Glasgow (Scotland), Nov.5 (ANI): At least 300 protesters participated in a candlelit protest outside a theater in Glasgow, Scotland, where a play is to portray Jesus as a transsexual. The Tron Theatre will present a new play, Jesus Queen of Heaven, in which Christ is a man who wants to become a woman.
According to The Telegraph, the protest was held outside the Tron Theatre.
The play is part of the Glasgay! arts festival which celebrates Scotland’s homosexual, lesbian, bi-sexual and transsexual culture.
Festival organizers, however, said there was no intention to incite or offend anyone.
The Christian protesters gathered outside the theatre ahead of the opening night on Tuesday, singing hymns and waving placards saying, “Jesus, King of Kings, Not Queen of Heaven”, and “God: My Son Is Not A Pervert.”
The play, which runs until Saturday, is written and performed by Jo Clifford, a transsexual playwright. (ANI)
