China to renovate 2.65 mn rural houses
June 7th, 2011 - 9:38 am ICT by IANSBeijing, June 7 (IANS) China plans to renovate around 2.65 million dilapidated houses belonging to poor people in the central and western rural regions this year, a government statement said.
The ministry of housing and urban-rural development said the government would first renovate 200,000 houses of poor farmers living along the country’s borders, Xinhua reported.
The government would allocate up to 8,000 yuan (around $1,200) for each household.
