China reorganises two military academies
November 5th, 2011 - 4:16 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Nov 5 (IANS) China has reorganised two of its top military academies, including one that imparts training to the armoured forces.
President Hu Jintao and the Central Military Commission (CMC) have approved the reorganisation of the Artillery Academy into the Army Officers College and the Bengbu Tank Institute into the Armoured Forces College, reported People’s Daily citing PLA Daily.
The Army Officers College was established in 1978.
The No. 1 Tank School, set up in 1950, was the predecessor of the Armored Forces College. It’s reorganisation is important for improving the educational quality of talent in the armoured forces, the media report said.
