China not affected by Japan nuclear-leak
March 15th, 2011 - 5:07 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, March 15 (IANS) China remains unaffected from radioactive leakages following a third explosion at Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant, the country’s nuclear watchdog said Tuesday.
The National Nuclear Safety Administration made the statement in a press release based on environmental monitoring results taken by 10 a.m. Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
The explosion in Fukushima, which happened at the No.2 reactor of the plant Tuesday morning, was the third at the stricken plant since it was damaged in Friday’s massive earthquake and tsunami.
Authorities said they will closely follow the situation, and upgrade monitoring efforts.
