China launches remote-sensing satellite
November 9th, 2011 - 11:16 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Nov 9 (IANS) China Wednesday successfully launched a remote-sensing satellite from its Taiyuan launch centre in northern Shanxi province, Xinhua reported.
The Yaogan XII was sent into space aboard a Long March 4B carrier rocket.
The satellite will carry out surveys on land resources, estimate crop yield and help with natural disaster prevention, the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre said in a statement.
