China, India to hold border talks
January 14th, 2012 - 4:42 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Jan 14 (IANS) Special representatives from China and India will meet to discuss the border issue Jan 15-17 in India, a foreign ministry spokesman said here Saturday.
Chinese State Councillor Dai Bingguo and Indian National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon will lead their countries’ delegations at the upcoming boundary talk, known as the 15th meeting between special representatives on Sino-Indian border issues, spokesman Liu Weimin said.
The two countries began to discuss border issues in the 1980s, said Xinhua.
Two agreements were signed in 1993 and 1996 to maintain peace and stability in border areas.
