China factory blast kills 10 (Lead)
July 28th, 2010 - 9:16 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, July 28 (IANS) A powerful explosion at a factory in eastern China Wednesday left 10 people dead and 14 seriously injured, local government said.
The blast ripped through an abandoned plastics factory in northern Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, officials said. More than 120 people were hospitalised, Xinhua reported.
The blast was caused by a gas leak after a propylene pipeline was damaged when workers dismantled the building of the Nanjing No. 4 Plastics Factory, an official statement said.
