Beijing, July 23 (Xinhua) Charlton Athletic playmaker Zheng Zhi has been named the captain of the 18-man Chinese men’s Olympic football squad. Zheng is one of the three over-age players allowed in the team. The other two are Shanghai Shenhua defender Li Weifeng, and Shandong Luneng striker Han Peng.

The squad was announced by Yin Tiesheng, who replaced former head coach Ratomir Dujkovic of Serbia. Dujkovic’s role has been reduced to that of an adviser.

The squad:

Goalkeepers: Qiu Shengjiong, Liu Zhenli
Defenders: Li Weifeng, Feng Xiaoting, Yuan Weiwei, Tan Wangsong, Lu Jianjun,
Wan Houliang
Midfielders: Zheng Zhi, Zhou Haibin, Cui Peng, Zhao Xuri, Chen Tao, Hao Junmin
Forwards: Han Peng, Gao Lin, Dong Fangzhuo, Jiang Ning
