Chimp Attack Victim Sad For Friend

nash2Hartford, May 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Charla Nash the victim of a brutal chimpanzee attack last year that left her face and hand badly mauled and her eyes blinded told during an interview for NBC’s “Today” that she is not angry with the owner of the Chimpanzee who has been a long time friend of her’s. Charla Nash reveals during the interview that she was saddened when she heard of the death of Sandy Herold, the owner of the Chimpanzee.

Charla Nash said that when her brother told her about the death of Sandy Herold, she went quiet for some time and then told him that she felt bad. She added that she is sure of the fact that her friend Sandy Herold too had suffered for whatever has happened. She asserted that whatever had happened had troubled Sandy Herold as well, as it was something created by her. She added that, “She [had] to live with it more than me. It’s something she created”.

Sandy Herold, the owner of the Chimpanzee died on Monday after suffering an aortic aneurysm. The lawyer of the 72 year-old lady said in a statement that Sandy Herold had suffered a series of heartbreaking losses in her life. She not only lost her husband and her only child but also her “beloved” chimpanzee that she cared for as a mother.

The family of Charla Nash sued Sandy Herold for $50 million and also plans to sue the state for $150 million for failing to prevent the chimpanzee attack. After hearing the news of the death of Sandy Herold, the attorney of Charla Nash’s family Bill Monaco said that the family extends their sympathy for the family of Sandy Herold.
