Chicago Citizens To Face Heavy Blizzard

Feb 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The citizens of Chicago are now bracing up for the biggest blizzard in a decade, which might hit the city at any time. The National Weather Service has made an announcement stating that heavy blizzard is expected in seven states of United States, from Oklahoma to Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. The officials have reported that there might be accumulation of at least 20 inches of snow along with winds of 40 kmph. On the other hand, the Governor of Illinois has declared a state of emergency owing to such a bad weather and also to ensure the safety of the citizens.
National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning so that the common people are aware of the impending danger looming large on their horizon and then take a lesson out of it. Even the state and the local authorities are asked to help people during the emergency and take actions regarding it. Governor Pat Quinn has activated State Emergency Operations Center to take care of the people during emergency and then he has also issued disaster declaration for the whole state.
Guy Tridgell, the spokesman of Illinois Department of Transportation told a reputed media source that the department is completely ready face the natural disaster and at the same time the department has ample drivers and salt for the cleaning operation. Guy Tridgell said that though this is going to be a big storm but the Illinois Department of Transportation is prepared for such natural calamity. Eve Rodriguez, the spokeswoman of the Chicago Department of Aviation said that many flights are expected to be canceled in both Midway Airport and O’Hare International Airport.
