Cheated by boyfriend, Beijing woman steals 36,000 yuan
March 26th, 2010 - 7:11 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, March 26 (IANS) A 50-year-old woman allegedly stole 36,000 yuan ($5,270) from her 73-year-old boyfriend here when she found out that he had cheated on her and refused to marry her.
The woman named Zhang stole her boyfriend’s identity card and time deposit certificate from his house in Beijing’s Tongzhou district on September 3, 2008, and then made two withdrawals from the bank. Her boyfriend reported the matter after finding the money missing and Zhang was arrested, China Daily reported Friday.
Zhang was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 3,000 yuan.
