Amsterdam, March 31 (DPA) Dutch opposition legislator Geert Wilders is to make changes to his controversial anti-Islam film Fitna, Dutch news wire ANP reported Monday. The announcement came after three people complained to Wilders that their copyright material was used in the film without permission.
Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard said his iconic image of the Prophet Mohammed portrayed as a terrorist was used without his permission.
Wilders will also remove the image of Dutch-Moroccan rapper Salah Edin posing as convicted assassin Mohammed Bouyeri, who killed Dutch film maker Theo van Gogh in 2004. Fitna used Edin’s lookalike picture instead of Bouyeri’s.
Wilders will also credit Dutch television maker Robbie Muntz for the use of some of his audio material.
All three people had threatened legal steps against Wilders.
Fitna is a 16-minute political film about radical Islam which warns of the alleged “Islamization” of the Netherlands and possible negative consequences for Dutch liberal and democratic values.
