Celeb status doesn’t let me surprise audience: Brad Pitt

London, Dec 20 (IANS) Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt is annoyed by his celebrity status as it “gets in the way” of surprising moviegoers with the challenging film roles he takes on.The actor faced the daunting task of playing a man ageing backwards in new film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and although he’s thankful for the opportunities his fame provides, Pitt insists being a mega movie star can overshadow the intense preparation required for actors taking on difficult parts.
“I think (my) celebrity status gets in the way. If you’re not fully valued it’s easy to surprise. It’s really nice. It sets you up to surprise people,” he said, reports contactmusic.com.
He added: “You might be taking on a difficult role, but that gets clouded by your celebrity status.”
