Melbourne, Oct 2 (IANS) Chinaman bowler Beau Casson can be sent as replacement for injured Bryce McGain for the India tour.Suspended all rounder Andrew Symonds may also be considered, although the team management had originally said he would not tour under any condition after his Darwin drama.

Casson was initially overlooked for the India tour because the selectors felt he didn’t push the ball through quick enough to be dangerous on the sub-continent but McGain’s injury has brought him back in reckoning

McGain was unable to bowl after pulling up his sore back muscle during a net session Tuesday. He now faces the embarrassing prospect of returning home before bowling a ball in a match on his maiden international tour.

Casson declared himself fit and ready to tour India if required.

“I’ll be ready if needed, absolutely. That was the reason for missing a few games with Australia A in India, because I wanted to get back on the park as soon as possible,” he was quoted as saying in Herald Sun.

“I’ve had (physio) Pat Farhart weave some of his magic and the groin has responded really well.

“I’ve played three one-dayers since and I’ve had to move from side to side a fair bit, so I could not be happier with the way I am feeling.”
