London, Mar 4 (ANI): Recession-hit fashionistas in the UK are hiring designer stilettos for as little as 40 pounds-a-week to make a statement at events and parties.

Girls, who could usually only dream of spending 800 pounds for a pair of Jimmy Choos or Christian Louboutins are flocking to rent them instead.

A larger number of women are hiring heels as they dress to thrill at events, parties and on romantic weekends away.

Men are not far behind, they are also leasing the shoes as a treat for their ladies.

The UK’s first shoe hire agency Cinderella Me offers more than 1,000 of the world’s most expensive high heels.

Prices start at 40 pounds-a-week and hit 85 pounds, depending on shoes’ rarity and value.

Shoes are hired only eight times before being sold off and are cleaned with UV light and steam between wears.

According to Boss Alexandra Hones, 40, business has gone up 1,000 per cent in the last few months.

“Times are still hard so women want a little luxury without the expense,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

“Hiring a designer pair is a confidence booster. They let girls feel a bit special - and men always notice them,” she added. (ANI)
