Cartoon Characters As Facebook Profile Picture To Combat Child Abuse

Dec 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) If somebody thought that cartoons can do no more than just make you laugh then its high time that you come out from the shackles of this old concept, for here is something new related to cartoons that has been launched in Facebook. The popular social networking site has become a platform to raise your voices against child abuse. All you need to do is just replace the human picture in your profile with a favorite cartoon character of yours.
This is the latest mode of revolt against the violence inflicted upon children. According to sources, few days back a message got circulated on Facebook and is still ongoing where Facebook users are being requested to change their profile pictures with faces of popular cartoon characters. The whole thing will be going on till the 7th of December. Activists have found a new way to protest against the harm on children by trying to remind people of their own childhood days. They are trying to tell that people who indulge in the heinous crime of inflicting violence upon children must not forget that at some point of time they too were kids. Undoubtedly, this is a path breaking way of coming up with a cause as grave as child abuse.
Many have readily volunteered for this cause as changing the profile pictures with popular cartoon characters is a rather fun thing to do, many netizens feel. Users are indeed having a gala time in discovering who is the real person behind the cartoon faces on their friends list. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Tweety Bird, Strawberry Shortcake, Doug, Rugrats to a name a few are coming up fast as profile pictures.
