Car bomb explosions kill eight in Baghdad
September 17th, 2008 - 8:24 pm ICT by IANSBaghdad, Sep 17 (Xinhua) At least eight people were killed and 25 wounded Wednesday in two car bomb attacks in the western part of the Iraq capital, officials said.According to latest reports, eight civilians were killed and 25 wounded in two car bomb attacks in Harthiya neighbourhood of Baghdad, an interior ministry official said, requesting anonymity.
The cars were parked in the busy Kendi intersection of the city, the official said. The powerful blasts, which went off in quick succession, also damaged several cars nearby.
The attacks came a day after General Ray Odierno took command of the US-led coalition troops in Iraq.
