Car bomb blast outside Ireland shopping mall
October 5th, 2010 - 11:01 am ICT by IANSLondon, Oct 5 (IANS) A car bomb exploded Tuesday outside a shopping centre in Northern Ireland, police said.
A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said the blast site has been cordoned off, Xinhua reported.
“Initial inquiries suggest there were no injuries,” he said, adding that “substantial damage has been caused to the retail complex and to the car”.
He added that a warning had been received about an hour before the device exploded, and dozens of homes and shops near the DaVinci Centre on Culmore Road were evacuated.
