Car adverts to carry CO2 emissions warnings

The new plans propose that a minimum of 20 per cent of adverts and marketing material should be given to facts about a vehicle’s carbon emissions and fuel efficiency.

The European Parliament has sent out a clear message to stress that ads should give car buyers more details of the CO2 emissions of the vehicles on sale.

However, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has criticized the measure, insisting that the proposals were ludicrous.

“Are we going to see health warnings on holidays or other products that generate CO2?” the Mirror quoted an advertising chief, as saying. (ANI)
