Capello may change his winning England formation
March 27th, 2011 - 5:59 pm ICT by ANILondon, Mar.27 (ANI): England manager Fabio Capello has said that he may axe his new system, despite the team’s 2-0 win against Wales in Saturday’s Euro 2012 qualifier in Cardiff.
Capello, who adopted a 4-3-3 formation at the Millennium Stadium, said that players at his disposal can play any system and that 4-4-2 could be back on the agenda.
“The new formation is really good because some players, like Ashley Young, are improving and can play very well. But I don’t know if I will play the same style, it depends on the opponent,” The Sun quoted Capello, as saying.
“For this game, I did my homework and I decided to go with this system. But we can also play 4-4-2,” he added.
Capello also said that a 9-1 system is his preferred choice, meaning he would like to see all his players bar one striker defending all over the pitch. (ANI)
